LISTENER TESTIMONY ON KRKS-

This message is for Stephanie: I am a businessman and sometimes listen to your show in my car. I find your commentary fresh, real and a message from God. You have an amazing ability to target the most important message in the bible: forgiveness. I love your message and approach. We have a mutual friend and I shared with her how much I love your show. You are an inspiration and a voice of wisdom and truth. Thank you and may the blessings of God flood your world. Joe Sturniolo

Stephanie, I caught a couple of your shows lately and they were terrific. You do a great job and are a huge blessing to a large number of people. Keep up the great work – Otis Drury

I just love your show and it truly helps me with forgiving others every day. Thank you, also for your wonderful prayers. You say them so eloquently and from your heart. You are a blessing to me. May God bless you and your son. Renee Markovchick

Please tell Stephanie that the grandma I was talking about whose granddaughter was killed right before Christmas and Stephanie prayed for was listening. She said the prayer made her sweep and touched her in an amazing way. She had a headache from crying so much and when Stephanie prayed for His peace for her and the family, she just stopped crying and her headache vanished! Liz Cowen author

You prayed for me. Today, in between 3 and 4 pm, I was suddenly able to walk with no pain — as though I had never been hurt. The Holy Spirit. I had cried for two days with regard to “please help.” I have not done that in over seven years, since my son’s murder — and He is so close — and then there you were — with the very friend I had revealed this to yesterday morning sitting between us — and you said: You need to ask for help from God.” It is my heart that truly needs the healing — my son’s heart which a bullet pierced, and now I am his voice –I cannot find the peace — I cannot settle. I just want to thank you — I remember that courage — I remember the caring — I remember the love. So, you reached out and touched a woman whose heart is more than broken — and I know the power of prayer — and you proved it once again, but I also know I DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING — truly, except “The ties of the heart are NOT severed by death.” So dear beautiful angel, thanks. I was getting four new tires today when your show was on — but I will listen, and I will ever remember you. And I will share what you did — a Holy Halo to guide me — Thank you. May your peace and gentle spirit reach many. With great affection and thanks. Karen

STEPHANIE YOU PRAYED FOR MY FRIEND IN GERMANY WITH CANCER AND I WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW DOCTORS DECLARED HER CANCER FREE. THANK YOU. JAMES

I have listened to thousands of hours of Christian radio over the past 25 years and have not been blessed as i have since finding your program. my job allows me to listen to the radio (which keeps me from insanity) I surf talk radio (Christian & secular) throughout the day. Normally I am not tuned into your station. but, divinely, I tuned in and have gone from feeling lost & helpless (even hopeless) to feeling inspired and victorious! I can’t wait to share your message with others! I ANXIOUSLY (make that EXCITEDLY) await the time i can purchase your programs to share with others! GOD BLESS YOU FOR ANSWERING HIS DIVINE CALLING!!! — Janet

I listened to Divine Calling the past three days. You’re message on forgiveness is one of the boldest I’ve heard in a very long time. I’ve been searching within and found several areas where I was holding back forgiveness to some degree. Usually in very subtle ways. -Gratefully – Mark

Comments = I don’t listen that often, but whenever I do, it really enlightens me. Thank you so much Stephanie for all of your encouragement and prayer, I have been praying as well and decided not to do anything. I have decided to forgive these people for what they did to my family and let God handle it from here on out. Thank you, thank you, I have peace. Kerry

Stephanie, you are obviously a very talented and accomplished individual. I thank God that you are sharing those talents that God gave you with us. Your an inspiration! — Robert

I love your show Stephanie. Funny, when I heard you on the radio, I just knew that I knew that voice, I grew up listening to you on the news, someday, I hope to be on your show to tell my story of forgiveness and God’s awesome grace — John Henry

One hour of Stephanie is NOT enough! Time to adjust those time slots KRKS. God Bless! — JT Chandler

Dearest Stephanie, My name is Bonnie, I just stopped by KRKS to pick up ‘Reflecting Him’ I can’t find words to thank you for who you are and what you do. You have been an unspeakable blessing to me. Thank you for your obedience. You are an angel.

Great show today with Dr. Jim Jackson! I met you years ago when I was the Office Manager at Project C.U.R.E., a fabulous organization! Keep using the gifts He gives you, it is our blessing. Laura Roof

My name is Kevin and I am from London England. A few months ago while looking at Teri Copley’s facebook page I found your show “Divine Calling” listed under her interests so I decided to have a listen to it. And what a blessing it is. I drive around London listening to the show first thing in the morning and it sets me up for the day. I just wanted to say a big thank you to you for the difference you and your interesting guests are making in my life. I have downloaded and listened to all your shows and have enjoyed and learned from them all. Please also thank the people who take the time to upload your show to itunes, facebook etc and allow people like me to be able to listen to them from another part of the world. Thank you so much! Kevin

Hi Stephanie Thank you for the opportunity to encourage with you on Divine Calling. You are a great host and I so appreciate your servant heart. May the Lord continue to bless you. Jan Coats.

I started listening to your show just a few weeks ago. Since then, I have received the word from God more than ever before. I thank you and your show because your theme of forgiveness and your gifts have allowed me to learn to forgive myself, then to go back and forgive others in my life. I have been learning that I’ve repressed, suppressed emotions throughout my life. It was my support mechanism for abuses and wrongs Ive experienced. What I feel to be a much larger accomplishment is my abilities to look at things in a different perspective. I now have the strength and courage to see my own self destructing behaviors and acknowledge them, and learn from them. Most of all, I have been able to put God as my priority to life management. And he has been showing me the light. Thank you and God Bless you and your gifts, — Rich

Hey Stephanie, I SO enjoy your program and the platform it brings for transparency and healing to the body of Christ. Thank you for broadcasting your visit with Sheila Walsh yesterday on KRKS. Lonni Briles

Hi Stephanie-

Thank you for the superb interview with John Trent last week! I have been using “The Blessing” since it was first released in 1986 in ministry and with my family. You are a lionJ? I could see that in the media profession. “The Blessing” tracks very well with Wess Stafford’s “Just A Minute” that I have just finished reading. I PTL for how the Holy Spirit leads you in the conversation with your guests and your selection of guests! You never know who is listening or their needs for that hour. Are you on Saturday evenings now? I was trolling stations Saturday and lo and behold I heard you around 10pm. Dave Farr

Hi Stephanie,

Your reaching out to people is a special quality, that I hope is never lost. It has inspired me to risk reaching out more. You touched on a tremendous truth, that if people truly understood what God has done for them in redemption, there would be less lethargy. I think also that if people could truly grasp that as believers they are secure, the ramifications are huge. When we truly realize we are secure, with are deepest needs met;namely that we have peace with God,are accepted in the beloved, that are eternal destiny with God is settled, forever to be with Him in heaven,we are truly able to give of ourselves. Norm Rountree

Hi Stephanie-

I’m a daily listener, have been watching/listening to you since your network TV news days. Love your show. I pick up my grand daughter from kindergarten so your time slot is perfect. Did you have a Pastor Ron Carpenter on Thursday? I pulled off the side of the ride to listen to the closer and get the name. I googled the name. He pastors a huge church back east and has new book out. On the show you were talking with him about over coming Satan and opposition/obstacles in life. He told a story about his grandmother who was too short to reach up in a cupboard to reach something and used a step stool. He went on to say that Satan and obstacles are step stools for moving up and on in life and ministry. He also mentioned overcoming opposition in his church, and how the opposition was God’s opportunity for the church to move up to bigger plans that the Lord had. Did I have the right guest? Dave Farr

Hi! Listen to your show and really like you and the show. I’ve been positively impacted by some of your guests and always learn something. Respectfully, Serena Roemen

When the world is beating me up, that’s when God usually lifts me up. I just speak His promises over whatever the devil throws at me and wait and watch. Few things in life are as important as speaking God’s Word every day. It has changed my life and will change yours, if you ask.
I learned the hard way to stop speaking death over your life. “I can’t, it won’t, he’s gone, she’s never coming back”. Your tongue is the most power force of your life. Even Proverbs tells us the tongue has the power of life and death in it. James 3 says you can control your whole body by that small member you have in the middle of your mouth. As a rudder guides a ship and a bit in horse’s mouth causes him to go in the right direction, the same is true for your tongue. It can steer your thoughts, emotions and body into paths of prosperity and success and be a tremendous power for good. But corrupt words can destroy those around us, the Psalmists says that words are like the piercing of swords. You can set on fire the course of nature by what you speak, because hell can only act on your words. Eve had to speak wrong words to cue hell and Satan could act. Hell can only move on your words. So every negative word that comes out of your mouth sets hell into action. This is why God spoke to Joshua 1:8 “This book of law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have success. (NASV)
This little verse in Joshua is the key to all prosperity and success. In fact, this is the only place the Word success is found in the Bible. Speaking God’s Word can make you successful in every area of your life.
But what about the words spoken against us and our loved ones? Will those words cue hell in our lives? God always has an answer for us. Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is of me.” Always condemn wrong words spoken against you and yours in the name of Jesus. But never condemn the person who speaks against you, only the words. These negative words will not hurt you. In fact, when you forgive and pray for the person condemning you, get ready for a blessing. God moves in proportion to our forgiveness – the bigger the offense the bigger the blessing!
Here are just a few Scriptures I may suggest to help bring more of Heaven to earth and transform your life, I like to speak them out loud. Try it!
SAFETY AND RELEASE FROM FEAR:
Today there is safety for me and my loves ones for there is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord (Prov. 21:30)
I hear the voice of the Lord through His Word. Therefore, I dwell safely and am quiet from fear of evil (Prov. 1:33)
FAMILY
I train up my child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Prov 22:6)
You, God, will not allow my children’s feet to slip or to be moved except toward you. You keep them and will not slumber (Ps. 121:3)
RELATIONSHIPS
I thank you, Father, that you surround me with favor as with a shield and therefore I have favor with my family and co-workers and also with all the people whom I come in contact today (Ps. 5:12)
HEALTH AND WEALTH
The Lord sent his Word and healed me and delivered me from all destruction. I serve the Lord and He blesses my food and drink: and He takes away sickness from me and my family. He heals all our diseases (Ps. 107:20; Ex. 23:25; Ps. 103:3b).
I give and it is given unto me, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over (Luke 6:38).
Today I rejoice in all that I put my hand to. He blesses the labor of my hands. I am happy and all is well with me and my household needs are met abundantly though Him who supplies all my needs (Ps. 128:1-2; Deut. 12:7, 18b).
Wealth and riches shall be in my house and my righteousness endures forever (Ps. 112:3)
JOY
No corrupt communication shall come out of my mouth today for I speak words of faith and edification. Therefore, my words bring life and joy. (Eph. 4:29).
KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM
God, the father of my Lord Jesus Christ, gives unto me the spirit of wisdom and revelation and my eyes are enlightened that I may know the hope of the glory of His inheritance in me and the exceeding greatness of His power that flows through me (Eph. 1:17-19).
Satan cannot overcome me for God has given me a mouth and wisdom the enemy cannot gainsay nor resist. (Luke 21:15).
THOSE IN AUTHORITY
Our nation, pastors and church are blessed because our God is the Lord and we are the people, He has chosen for his inheritance. (Ps. 33:12).
Today, I pray for my President and those in authority over me that their hearts are in the hand of the Lord and He turns them whithersoever He will (Prov. 21:1)

The Bible also says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9)

Dear Jesus, I believe that you died for me and rose again. I confess that I am a sinner and need Your love and forgiveness. Come into my life, forgive my sins, and give me eternal life. I confess You as my Lord. Thank you for my salvation! Amen.

When you speak the Word of God and ask Him into your heart, your life will never be the same. God bless you!

You will never experience anything that compares to the feeling of wholeness, peace and freedom that comes when you completely and totally forgive your offender, yourself or even God. When I find myself wallowing in my woes, I am worthless. Festering, pointing fingers, and seeking revenge will only keep you from your divine calling and block God’s unshakable plan for your life.

Perhaps the greatest example of forgiveness in the 21st century is Nelson Mandela. After almost three decades of political imprisonment, he chose to focus on the future. In spite of the devastating trauma of apartheid, he chose forgiveness instead of revenge. The world expected a blood bath, but South Africans avoided radial war. Mandela simply said he was grateful, God allowed him to play in role in forgiveness. There can be no future without forgiveness. When Mandela was asked how he managed to survive 27 years in prison without being bitter? He said bitterness only hurts oneself. And if you hate your enemy you give away your heart and mind.

Don’t give away your heart and mind. Those are the very best parts of you. Instead of talking about your storm talk to it; weekdays at 2 p.m. MT on KRKS 94.7 FM – where the focus is on the power of total forgiveness. Dial 303-873-1935 and share your story about forgiveness, or a struggle you might be going through right now to forgive someone who has deeply hurt you. Look forward to hearing from you!

Former CBS 4 News anchor Stephanie Riggs sat down for a one-on-one interview with Colorado former first lady Frances Owens during a show that debuted Saturday and repeats at 10:30 this morning and 7 p.m. Monday on Vista TV, a lifestyle network on Comcast Channel 19.

Owens discusses her post-public life as a single woman after 34 years of marriage to former Gov. Bill Owens, as a working woman as executive vice president of community affairs for Galloway Group, as a mother with three grown kids who occasionally boomerang back to the house and as a fundraiser for local charities as well as supporting an impoverished village in Nicaragua.

The Owens interview is the first in a series Riggs plans to shoot for Vista.

“Stephanie’s an awesome interviewer,” Owens said. “She’s very natural and goes with the flow. It took at least an hour to an hour and a half to get it just right.”

Owens said Riggs sent some questions in advance, but most of the conversation was off the cuff. The former first lady, whose marriage crumbled while Bill was governor, did not lay down any hard and fast rules.

Was any subject off limits?

“Not really,” she said. “I think a lot of times when you tape something, if there was something that came up, I could easily answer that I didn’t want to talk about that. I talked about what I’m doing now, my past, and I was very complimentary to Bill. I would never not be.”

Frances Owens, didn’t, however, drag up details of the marriage’s demise. “Sometimes things are better left not said,” she said. “If it’s not going to change anything, then why bring it up?”

She said she’s divorced emotionally, but not quite legally. “On paper, almost. There are some issues we haven’t been able to resolve.”

Frances says she’s open to letting love in her life but isn’t actively pursuing a partner. “I would rather it would just happen,” she said. “I’m not going online dating, I’m not going to bars. If it’s going to happen, it will.”

Future Riggs interviews on Vista include former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese talking about Judi’s House, the organization he dedicated to his mother, who died from cancer when Griese was young. Judi’s House offers counseling services for grieving children.

Foodie feast.

Eight of Denver’s top toques will gather inside Lola’s kitchen, 1575 Boulder St. in the Highland neighborhood, to whip up an eight-course feast paired with eight wines to raise money for Sense of Security, a Colorado-only breast cancer charity that helps pay non-medical bills for patients going through treatment. The date is Sept. 23.

It’s the charity I support with my annual golf tournament, which fell short of our fundraising goal in this sagging economic climate. We’re hoping to recoup some of our losses with this Evening of Decadent Delights. Tickets: $95 per person, or $125 for the VIP patio seating, after-party with the chefs and a goodie bag. Reservations: loladenver.com or 720-570-8686.

Lucy’s not juicy.

Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse, 250 Josephine St., shut its doors for good before dinner service Thursday. The owner, who will keep operating the original Juicy Lucy’s in Glenwood Springs, said he couldn’t get the same concept to succeed in Denver.

That Cherry Creek North space has seen several eateries — including Papillon, Go Fish, Indigo and Tula — come and go.

Eavesdropping on a woman to a man at Green Valley Ranch Golf Course: “I don’t want you to moan because we’re a threesome and the foursome in front of us is slow.”

“But that’s the only enjoyment I get on the golf course.”

Penny Parker’s column appears Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Listen to her on the Caplis and Silverman radio show between 4 and 5 p.m. Fridays on KHOW-AM (630). Call her at 303-954-5224 or e-mail pparker@denverpost.com.

Review of ‘Fitting In’ from Dr. Kennth Katz, MD: Congratulations on a wonderful production! ‘Fitting In’ is an amazing show! As a pediatrician, I have counseled over-weight kids and their families for many years, generally without much success. On your show, you gave these children love, warmth, and support and wow, did they respond to your team!

You gave kids with typically very depressing problem, a life renewed with positive energy! Very exciting. Not many approaches have the good results you had. I am now suggesting your approach to my patients. I have the family work together to throw away all the junk food in the house and go shopping together to pick out healthy alternative that they’ll eat.

Thanks for what you are doing for all children and making the show available on dvd for families and schools!!! Dr. Kenneth Katz, Medical Doctor

So I asked where I could do the most good? The answer to my prayer showed up on cold, snowy Colorado weekend. I decided to create a television show called Fitting In that would help kids get healthy. Penny Parker, announced a casting call in her popular column in the Rocky Mountain News and Suzanne Brown from the Denver Post put the word out in her award-winning Fitness Section. Both Brown and Parker explained to Colorado families that we were looking for kids who were tired of being overweight, wanting to fit in and ready to make a change. Honestly, we thought a handful of children would show up. Even the weather reports said stay at home. We were shocked. Enough children showed up, they could have formed a line around the block. One by one they each opened their hearts and explained why they wanted change. They said, they were tired of children making fun of them and calling them fat.

So there we were, all there together in the United Marital Arts Center off University and Hampden, ready to create change. Miracles happen when people come together in faith, hope and love. We sent every child a certificate of courage and an invitation to learn, grow and transform. We offered a safe place where no one is allowed to make fun of anyone. We wanted to give back some of what has been given to us. Good health is a choice. But what if you don’t know that? I say we, because I found other people who literally walked into my office off the street and said I heard about what you are doing and I want to help these kids. And we did.

What we have learned, over the past year and four months, is that children will make you proud if you consistently remind them they matter and simply give them the chance. I thought rather than us telling you what happened over the last four months, We would let the kids tell the story. This is their journey. We just came together to serve them with encouragement, information and motivation. Fitting In is not about scales, elimination or intense workouts. Fitting In is about making healthy choices everyday and learning to really love yourself and what you do to and with your body matters. Fitting In is about being positive, eating good stuff and moving your body. Fitting In is a journey not a destination. The journey is about feeling good and the reward is living a healthy life. Fit is a feeling.
