You will never experience anything that compares to the feeling of wholeness, peace and freedom that comes when you completely and totally forgive your offender, yourself or even God.  When I find myself wallowing in my woes, I am worthless. Festering, pointing fingers, and seeking revenge will only keep you from your divine calling and block God’s unshakable plan for your life.

Perhaps the greatest example of forgiveness in the 21st century is Nelson Mandela.  After almost three decades of political imprisonment, he chose to focus on the future.  In spite of the devastating trauma of apartheid, he chose forgiveness instead of revenge.  The world expected a blood bath, but South Africans avoided radial war.  Mandela simply said he was grateful, God allowed him to play in role in forgiveness. There can be no future without forgiveness.  When Mandela was asked how he managed to survive 27 years in prison without being bitter?  He said bitterness only hurts oneself.  And if you hate your enemy you give away your heart and mind.
